"North Korea, South Korea, Marilyn Monroe" (The DMZ)

Me in the foreground, North Korea in the background
The meeting table where the ceasefire was agreed

A North Korean soldier watching us through binoculars
A military observation post that we visited
The US military camp named after a soldier who was hacked to death with an axe by North Korean soldiers at bridge of no return below

Our military escort
Our south Korean escort in the foreground, North Korea and three of its soldiers in the background.
Seeing me, seeing you. Being watched by a North Korean soldier.
One of our guards
Another guard inside the hut that sits directly on the border of North and South Korea

Looking across to North Korea
The huge flagpole that North Korea erected in its propaganda village
The bridge of no return again. So called because after the Korean war the North Korean soldiers captured by the South were allowed to choose weather to stay in South Korea or return home to the North. Once across this bridge and past the military checkpoint at the other side there was no return. Nobody has dared cross this bridge for 50+ years.
